We all know about the holistic and integrated medicinal knowledge that Ayurveda shares. While Ayurveda offers several distinguishing features, healing is one of them.
One can say that Ayurveda can be effective when the dosha constitution is in balance. Dosha is the body-mind constitution. There are three doshas, known as Vata, Kapha, and pitta.
Based on that particular determination of individual dosha type, we have made a questionnaire on our website, HOLISTIC AYURVEDA. You can visit, answer and get to know about your dosha type.
This was all about how Ayurveda works. But here in this article, we will discuss:
When we use the word spices, what comes to our mind?
Something related to cooking, right?
Yes, that’s true.
That is what spices do, enhance flavor and make food delicious. For sure, these are the uses, but Ayurveda takes it to a completely different level. Knowledge of spices contributes to maintaining balance and healing our bodies.
Knowledge of spices is unique.
Different elements play a different role in the doshas constitution.
Each one of us should use spices according to their individual dosha constituent.
We all have homeostasis. Modern medicine confirms this by making patients go through various blood tests. Checking hemoglobin, RBC’s count, etc., in Ayurveda, we understand this on the basis of increased dosha proportion. If any of the three doshas increases, we have symptoms.
For example: let’s go for pitta dosha. An increase in the fire element causes more heat, inflammation, acne fever, etc. for curing this, we need to keep our doshas in balance. With the help of certain spices like a fennel, coriander, turmeric, etc., one can balance it.
Ayurveda says,” you are not only what you eat but also what you digest.” Many people take proper nutritious food and still face issues, all because of undigested food.
Eating is not enough; one needs to digest it too.
